Aliante contest attracts hundreds
Hundreds of youngsters got an early start on their Halloween celebrations last weekend during a free pumpkin painting contest at the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. In addition to the contest, entertainment and refreshments, residents and visitors were able to tour the community and visit recreational amenities such as the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park. "As Aliante grows, so does the scope and popularity of its community events. It's wonderful to see so many homeowners coming out to enjoy their community and meet their new neighbors. It is equally gratifying to see so many first-time visitors discovering Aliante and the wonderful lifestyle it offers," said Dan Naef, senior vice president of developer North Valley Enterprises. Encompassing 1,905 acres, the community features primary and age-qualified villages, which will have as many as 7,500 homes. Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Homes measuring from 1,141 to 3,990 square feet are priced from the $130,000s to the $380,000s. Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante, which offers single-story homes measuring from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and priced from the $180,000s to the $270,000s. Nearly one-fourth of the community has been designated for recreational and public purposes including an 18-hole municipal golf course, three city parks, more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks, and an arroyo. Plans also call for two elementary schools, a middle school, a fire station and 100 acres of commercial development, including a 40-acre resort with gaming. North Valley Enterprises is an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. An information gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south to the primary village or north to Sun City.
