Buyer values Solera's amenities
Seeking a fresh start, Awilda Emord left her lifetime home in New York City and moved to Solera at Anthem, the newest Del Webb age-qualified community in Henderson. "I decided it was time for a change," Emord said. "New York is so overcrowded, it was time to move on. I just love this area, so it seemed a good choice. Once I discovered Solera, I knew it would be great. There is so much to do here." She said she was attracted by the variety of activities, as well as the chance to make new friends. "The week before I moved in there was a block party, so I've already met many of my neighbors. I'm interested in arts and crafts as well as the opportunity to socialize," she said. Emord also enjoys swimming and fitness training. "And I just love the location. I enjoy it every time I drive up the mountain. The community is beautiful and the view from the top of the hill is gorgeous," she said. Emord purchased the Clark plan, which features three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. It measures 1,251 square feet. "This home is perfect for me. I have two daughters and other family who will be visiting, so this gives me room for guests as well as a den," she said. Homes include features that are often considered options such as ceiling fans, telephone and cable connections in every room, Corian counter tops, raised-panel cabinets, garage door openers and microwave ovens. Four designs ranging from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet are available. Homes are priced from the high $180,000s to the low $250,000s. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
