Distinctive Homes is building half-acre, estate-sized lots in its Canyon Estates subdivision that is located about two miles south of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino, off Warm Springs Road, according to Mary Hobbs, the developer's vice president of sales and marketing.

Canyon Estates features one- and two-story homes, ranging from 2,931 to 4,693 square feet with a casita. Four models feature three to seven bedrooms and two to 4 1/2 baths.
Outside, the homes have casitas with attached breezeways that are complimented by hand-set paver stone driveways and walks.
Interior includes oak stairs and balcony railings to the second floor, fireplace in the family room or great room, 5-inch baseboards and upgraded 13-by-13-foot ceramic tile entry. The kitchens include upgraded, raised-panel cabinetry with 3-inch crown molding, built-in double ovens, microwave and five-cycle Energy Star-rated dishwasher.
The homes are constructed with the Cocoon insulation system that increases overall energy efficiency by 26 percent.
