Providence homes helps protect environment

Providence, a master-planned community in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley, is designed to protect the environment, according to developer Focus Property Group. Several builder partners with that same approach are opening homes there.

"When we designed Providence, it was our goal to create a truly environmentally conscious master plan, not only in our shady, lush and colorful water efficient landscape planted throughout the project, but also in our builder's homes," said John A. Ritter, chairman and chief executive officer of the development company. "Our builders have truly stepped up to the plate to help us meet that goal, and as a result, our residents will enjoy a community that not only looks great and provides a high quality of life to its residents, but is also water and energy efficient."

Eight Energy Star-certified homes just opened at Pardee Homes' Highgate and Chestnut Hill neighborhoods.

"Home buyers recognize the benefits of owning a beautiful Energy Star-qualified home in an environmentally friendly community, and as a result we're off to a terrific start with Highgate and Chestnut Hill at Providence," said Rob Tuvell, regional sales director for Pardee Homes.

Meritage Homes' Northern Terrace began sales at the community with homes that encourage social interaction through shared resources among residents. The Club at Northern Terrace features a recreational facility with pools, a spa and a fitness center, and is expected to open in early 2007.

Pulte Homes' Easton Place recorded some of the first sales at the community, and offers three, two-story designs ranging from 1,713 to 2,061 square feet. They contain three bedrooms, two full baths and a one-half bath. Prices start in the low $300,000s.

Toll Brothers features two collections at the gated Franklin Park neighborhood, where residents have access to a swimming pool and pool house. The builder's Madison Grove neighborhood is also gated, and includes three floor plans as well as a private park and tot lot for residents.

Ryland Homes is offering homes in their Auburn and Bradford communities. Auburn offers four floor plans ranging from 2,071 to 2,970 square feet that includes two three-story designs. The Bradford neighborhood will consist of four designs ranging from 1,748 to 3,099 square feet.

KB Home is currently taking interest lists for their four communities, Oxford Commons, Cambridge Crossing, Cambridge Villas and Manchester.

All Providence homes are planned with the American Traditions theme found throughout the community, which is home to 4,000 shade trees and other landscaping. Visitors can see examples of the community's drought-tolerant plant palette at the Demonstration Garden located adjacent to the information center. The Demonstration Garden will host a series of landscape seminars to educate homeowners.

Other builders at Providence include Astoria Homes, Avante Homes, Beazer Homes, Fairview Residential, Kimball Hill Homes, Lennar Everything's Included Homes, R/S Development, Warmington Homes Nevada and Woodside Homes.

The community's information center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
