Red Rock Country Club expands sports facility
Sunrise Colony Co., developer of Red Rock Country Club, is planning an expansion of the golf course community's sports club. The facility currently provides health and fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's play center. The expansion will enable the club to extend its services. "The plan for Red Rock Country Club has always called for an expansion of the 8,000-square-foot sports club," William Bone, the community's chairman and founder, said. "Our membership is at a level where it is time to expand in order to continue to offer our members the best experience possible." Across from the sports club is a 44,000-square-foot clubhouse with a pro shop, meeting room, banquet facilities and two dining rooms. Located just behind the sports club is the resort-style aquatic center, which features a family pool, spa, an adults-only pool, a lap pool, splash-and-spray mini-park as well as an outdoor grill. The community's tennis center features a world-class stadium court where professional tennis exhibitions and amateur tournaments are held, as well as day and night tennis activity. Red Rock Country Club is adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and home to the first of two 18-hole golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer. The course is highlighted by canyons with 100-foot drops, lakes, waterfalls and streams. Residential opportunities include homes in four collections -- Acacia, Mesquite, Ocotillo and Palo Verde -- with prices ranging from the $350,000s to more than $2 million. To visit the community, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. The model homes and sales office are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
