Red Rock Country Club evolves

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Much has changed at Red Rock Country Club since Sunrise Colony Co. broke ground for the golf course community nearly four years ago. In that time, about 600 homes have been sold and several recreational amenities have been completed, including a clubhouse, sports club, tennis facility and aquatic center.

The community in Summerlin features two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses and is adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

"Our buyers love that we are a community of homes with architectural integrity that utilize the vivid colors of nature as the backdrop," Kevin Stall, director of sales, said. "And the homes were designed to maximize nature's beauty with features such as picture windows, balconies and courtyards."

For each home sold in the guard-gated community, Stall said the developer donates $250 to the Friends of Red Rock Canyon, an organization dedicated to the preservation and support of the conservation area.

Complementing the 18-hole golf courses is a practice facility with a double-ended driving range, putting green and chipping areas. The course terrain is rugged and highlighted by canyons with 100-foot drops, lakes, waterfalls and streams.

A limited number of home sites are available in the Vista Verde neighborhood. These golf course, mountain and city view lots are priced from the $600,000s.

Vista Verde lot buyers can choose from four collections of homes.

Floor plans in the Palo Verde series range from 3,765 to 5,300 square feet; single-story plans in the Ocotillo Collection measure from 2,864 to 4,175 square feet; Mesquite Collection homes range from 3,188 to 4,295 square feet; and the Acacia series has single- and two-story homes measuring from 2,503 to 3,451 square feet.

Various features include view decks, covered patios and three-car garages. Professional designers are available to assist buyers in the selection of options.

The 44,000-square-foot clubhouse features a golf shop, meeting room, banquet facilities and two dining rooms.

The sports club, which offers a view of the mountains, features health and fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's play area.

Also featured is a tennis center with nine lighted, hard-surface courts, including a stadium court. The aquatic center is comprised of several pools, a spa and an outdoor grill.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and head west. Sales office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
