Houses of worship call on Rolladen

At least two churches in Las Vegas have called on Rolladen Rolling Shutters for protection against burglars, according to Fran Minnozzi, longtime owner of the company's Las Vegas franchise.

"You wouldn't expect to hear such a thing, but unfortunately it's true," Minnozzi said. "... People actually vandalize or steal from a church."

Father Jim Bevan called on the company when he was associated with St. Francis de Sales Parish.

"I needed something that wouldn't look ugly and would be real secure," Father Bevan said. "I also needed it real quick."

The foam-filled, retractable aluminum shutters were installed on the doors and windows of the church.

"Most people walk by and never even notice them," Father Bevan said.

St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, located in the downtown area, also called on Minnozzi for help. There, the shutters were installed on the door to the rectory and over the stained-glass windows.

Rolladens are available in 11 colors and include a three-year warranty on parts and a year on labor. While the shutters are in use, Minnozzi said power consumption can be reduced by as much as 64 percent.

"Shutters simply make so much sense," she said. "We're seeing more and more people install them during construction of a home."

The showroom is located at 6166 W. Charleston Blvd., and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.
