Tierra Linda home called `upside-down'
A home with the main living quarters upstairs appeals to buyers familiar with homes on the East Coast, according to representatives of KB Home, which is offering such a floor plan at its Tierra Linda neighborhood in the southeastern valley. The Cantabria floor plan is described as an "upside-down" house. The first floor features three bedrooms, a bonus room, bath, laundry room and two-car garage. The second floor has the kitchen, dining room, great room and master suite. The home measures 2,312 square feet and starts in the mid-$180,000s. Part of the Pueblo series, the floor plan is one of seven at the neighborhood ranging from 1,098 to 2,312 square feet. The one- and two-story designs offer two to four bedrooms, two or three baths, and two-car garages. The Hacienda series at Tierra Linda offers 15 floor plans, five of which are modeled at the neighborhood. Homes range from 1,245 to 2,784 square feet. The one- and two-story homes feature three to five bedrooms, two baths, and two-car garages. Prices range from the high $150,000s to the low $200,000s. The Pueblo and Hacienda series homes offer numerous options such as fireplaces, patios, balconies, lofts and as many as six bedrooms. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road, go east to Las Vegas Boulevard and drive south about 4 1/2 miles. Turn left on Barbara Lane and right on Haven Street, then follow the signs. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. except Friday, when they open at 11 a.m. KB Home is one of America's largest home builders with operating divisions in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas and Florida. Kaufman & Broad S.A., the company's majority-owned subsidiary, is one of the largest home builders in France. The company offers a range of services, including a mortgage company, a "club" to help potential buyers achieve homeownership through credit consultation, and a home finding center.
