KB Home debuts Classics at Iron Mountain

Classic cars and houses will be highlighted today when KB Home debuts its The Classics at Iron Mountain Ranch in the northwestern valley.

Members of the Las Vegas Cruisin' Association will display their restored cars during the festivities, which are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m.

"It's what got our nation started. People love the automobile; they love their cars. We're just car people," said Art Kam of the association, which has 200 local and more than 1,000 national members.

The grand opening includes a chance to win an annual car wash pass, full-detail package or car care kit, as well as entertainment. In addition, NASCAR driver Mike Cofer will be on hand with the KB Home car for pictures and autographs.

Home sites in the neighborhood range from 20,000 square feet to more than one-half acre.

"The Classics at Iron Mountain Ranch offers a lot size you don't often see in planned communities," Shelly Stewart, vice president of sales and marketing for the builder's Las Vegas division, said. "When you consider the average lot size for new homes is about 5,500 square feet, we really are offering something special."

Yard options include a third-car garage, casita and pool.

"We fell in love with the house, the half-acre lot we selected and the surrounding community. We really wanted some personal space and privacy," buyer Roy Steffen said.

He and his wife purchased a 3,632-square-foot Holliday floor plan.

"It actually has an entry way. You don't just walk in and fall into the house," Steffen said.

Six single- and two-story floor plans are available. Homes offer from three to six bedrooms, and 2 1/2 or three baths. Prices start in the $320,000s.

Iron Mountain Ranch also includes the Mesa, Prairie, Frontier and Sierra series with homes ranging from 1,093 to 3,633 square feet. Of the 33 floor plans available, 16 are modeled.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, head east to Jones Boulevard, then go north to Grand Teton Drive. At Grand Teton, turn right and drive to Sterling Moon Avenue. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.

The builder offers one-stop shopping at its design center, where buyers may select options and upgrades. Potential buyers can receive free financial advice, including credit reports, and assistance locating a home in its more than 20 subdivisions valleywide. The center is located at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201, just south of Warm Springs Road.
