Qualities of Richmond home add up for math teacher
When Jacob and Toshia McIntyre decided to relocate to Las Vegas from Utah, they were looking for a builder that offered convenience and affordability. They found both at Richmond American Homes' Tierra Mesa neighborhood in the northeastern valley. "We were looking for a home with a great price, location, and a floor plan that used space efficiently," Jacob McIntyre said. At the time, Jacob McIntyre was preparing to start his first year as a math teacher in Las Vegas and his wife was nine-months pregnant with their first child, Maverick. They said they were impressed by how stress-free the home-buying process was, including having samples for their interior design selections mailed to them because they were unable to travel. The McIntyres chose the 1,146-square-foot Buena Vista design, one of three floor plans offered. "The floor plans at other communities seemed broken up, whereas the Buena Vista plan just flowed. From the spacious closets to the astutely placed bedrooms, this seemed liked the perfect place to live comfortably," Toshia McIntyre said. Priced from the low $100,000s, the two-story design features two bedrooms and two baths on the second level. The McIntyres selected the optional downstairs powder room. Also available is the single-story Alta Vista design. Priced from the $90,000s, the one-bedroom home features a kitchen with a nook and a great room. The Chula Vista, priced from the low $100,000s, measures 1,308 square feet and has three bedrooms, a great room, kitchen with a nook, and tech area than can be converted into an office or half bath. "The prices at this community were unbelievably affordable for the amount of square footage, quality and uniqueness of the design. Richmond has made buying a first-rate home a dream come true for families like us just starting out," Jacob McIntyre said. To visit, take Interstate 15 Lake Mead Boulevard, head east to Bonnie Lane and go north. Models and the sales office are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when they open at noon.
