MacDonald Highlands puts neighborhoods in spotlight

Scenic views and higher elevations highlight custom-home sites within two recently released neighborhoods at the guard-gated MacDonald Highlands community in Henderson, according to Rich MacDonald, president of the developer, MacDonald Cos.

"Dragon Gate and Glenbrook Canyon offer tremendous elevation changes for prospective buyers looking for that rare and unusual setting," MacDonald said. "The topography of both neighborhoods will enable architects to incorporate stunning views into the design of each custom home."

Dragon Gate offers 12 hillside lots on a private street. Views of the valley, surrounding mountains and city are available from the custom-home sites, which are intended for multilevel estates. The terraced lots range from one-half acre to three-quarters of an acre and are priced from $800,000.

Fourteen home sites are featured in the gated Glenbrook Canyon. Lots, which also offer views, range from .84 acres to 5.65 acres and are priced from $950,000 to $3.5 million.

Work on infrastructure has begun.

Central to the community is DragonRidge Country Club and its private 18-hole championship golf course.

The course is complemented by a 35,000-square-foot stone and glass clubhouse offering formal and informal dining, lounges, a fitness center, a swimming pool, children's pool, and pro shop.

Both a golf and social membership to the country club are included with each purchase, upon application approval.

Five custom-home neighborhoods, each with a distinct topography, are actively selling. Buyers can choose from flat sites aligning the golf course to hillside lots. Home sites range from one-half acre to 5.65 acres and are priced from $795,000 to $3.5 million.

To visit the information center at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive and go south to the northwest corner of Valle Verde and Horizon Ridge. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
