Del Webb to commemorate anniversary with celebrations
To help celebrate the success of its communities for the past 40 years, Del Webb is hosting a welcome weekend Oct. 16 and 17 at its age-qualified communities of Sun City Anthem and Solera at Anthem in Henderson, and Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas. Festivities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days in the communities' model parks, and will include entertainment, refreshments and giveaways. In addition, the builder will unveil the models for its all-ages Club Aliante community. The grand opening celebration is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the North Las Vegas community, and will also include entertainment, refreshments and giveaways. All four of the builder's communities offer myriad social and recreational opportunities. Central to Sun City Anthem is Anthem Center. "The community association consists of over 40 clubs and organizations spanning a wide range of interests, hobbies and talents," Brooke Garner, director of activities, said. In addition, construction of a second recreation center is under way in the community. The new facility is set to open in spring 2005. Twelve single-story floor plans are available, ranging from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet. Prices start from the high $200,000s. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Solera at Anthem is a 385-acre community. "Solera is a great community for those who want the amenities of an active-adult community with less structure," association manager Karla Pearson-Call said. Five single-story designs are available, measuring 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. The community was created for those who prefer a simplified buying process by including features that are often considered options and upgrades. Homes are priced from the mid-$200,000s. Tennis and bocce courts are open, while a fitness center is scheduled to open in 2005. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive. Sun City Aliante comprises 326 acres and was designed to focus around its recreation center. Ground was broken recently for the facility, which is expected to open next spring. "Sun City Aliante's residents are so friendly and personable," Janice Neitzert, community association manager, said. "They've already started multiple clubs and groups." Seven single-story designs are offered, ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet. The homes are priced from the mid-$200,000s. Highlighting Club Aliante, a country club-style community, will be its fitness-recreation center. Set for completion by late spring, it will be complemented by a pool, spa, tennis and basketball courts, and a playground. Five single- and two-story homes are offered, ranging from 2,168 to 3,665 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$500,000s. To visit either Aliante community, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go north. All of the builder's homes earn the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label, certifying they are at least 30 percent more energy efficient than homes built to standard code. In addition, they feature Environments for Living technology and offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee. All Del Webb sales offices are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The builder is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes Inc.
