Carina set to unveil Lamplight Glen

Lamplight Glen, a gated neighborhood in the northwestern valley, opens for sales today, according to Mark Doppe, president of Carina Homes. A grand opening is scheduled on Nov. 13.

The builder said the homes' architectural diversity and each neighborhood's hometown feel have made the Lamplight communities successful.

"Home buyers want their homes to be as distinctive and unique as they are," Doppe said. "In Southern Nevada, where stucco homes with red tile roofs have been the norm for more than a decade, home buyers have embraced the Lamplight difference. With several elevations and a broad color palette within each style, no two homes are alike."

Neighborhoods typically feature a variety of architectural styles, including American traditional, Western contemporary, French country and Craftsman. Two additional styles, Key West and Spanish Colonial, will make their debut at the new neighborhood.

"Key West's signature details include awnings, Bahama shutters, Caribbean colors and shallow roof pitches. It's a very distinctive look and one that is influenced by both traditional Caribbean and Victorian styles," said Mike Fowler of KTGY Group Inc. Architecture, which assisted the builder in designing the homes.

The Key West home also offers an optional metal roof that is aesthetically pleasing and durable, Fowler said.

Highlights of the Spanish Colonial style are wraparound porches, arches, low-pitched roofs and outdoor living areas.

Detached casitas and garages are available at the neighborhood.

Fowler also commented on the homes' attics, which serve as storage areas.

"Particularly in the desert, where basements are rare, storage space is always at a premium. We have actually catered the roof structure to maximize storage space, and we've added drop-down ladders for easy access," he said.

Homes in the neighborhood range from 3,412 to nearly 5,000 square feet and are priced from $600,000.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, go west to Tenaya Way and head north to Rome Boulevard. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Wednesday, when it opens at noon.

The builder offers nine new-home subdivisions in the Las Vegas Valley and has completed eight neighborhoods in its Lamplight series, encompassing more than 1,500 homes.
