Gated entrance, location attract doctor to Anthem Country Club

Leonard Gruber, a new resident at Del Webb Corp.'s Anthem Country Club, moved to the Henderson golf course community to find a bigger home. He believed the timing was appropriate.

"Homes in Anthem Country Club are a good investment right now more than ever, given the unpredictably of the stock market," Gruber, a family practitioner, said.

Gruber chose the Toccata model from the Baroque Collection. He likes his home's proximity to his nearby office and the community's guard-gated entrance.

"It's nice to have 24-hour security. I like to walk in the evenings and it makes me feel very secure to know they are there, only allowing guests and other members to enter," Gruber said.

Four series of homes are available: the Impressionist, Baroque, Romantic and Renaissance collections. They contain 20 floor plans, ranging from 1,275 to more than 4,000 square feet.

Homes are priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million.

Custom-home sites are also available and offer views of the city, mountains or golf course. Each custom-home neighborhood has a gated entrance within the guard-gated community. Prices range from $175,000 to more than $650,000.

The community's 7,300-yard, par-72 championship golf course was designed by PGA golfer Hale Irwin and architect Keith Foster and features as many as five tee boxes. Equity and executive (nonresident) golf memberships are available.

Also offered at the community are an athletic club, a salon and spa, tennis courts, resort-style pool, sand volleyball court, a child-care facility, aerobics classes, and personal trainers.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. The models are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
