Summerlin courses host tourney
Southern Nevada's only two Tournament Players Club golf courses, both located in the Summerlin master-planned community, will co-host the 2003 Las Vegas Invitational, scheduled Wednesday through Oct. 12. Summerlin is home to eight public and private golf courses, including TPC at Summerlin, TPC at The Canyons and Jack Nicklaus' Bear's Best Las Vegas. "Summerlin has always been proud to host such a prestigious sporting event as the LVI. Golf is an important amenity in our community, and the association we enjoy with the PGA and many of the world's top golfers further enhances the community's image as a golf haven," said Larry Brocato, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin. TPC at Summerlin has served as the tournament's home course since 1992. Play will occur daily at each host course, until the final two days, which will be played only at TPC at Summerlin. Summerlin has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys. Nearly 120 models showcase the available single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Homes are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $700,000, while custom-home sites are priced from the high $500,000s to more than $1 million. Predesigned custom homes are priced from $2.1 million. For more information, visit www.reviewjournal.com/real estate and click on the Summerlin link.
