Sisters opt for homes in Solera

The opportunity to enhance their lifestyle while remaining close to family prompted Lana and Fred Tino to purchase a home in Solera at Anthem, a Del Webb age-qualified community located within the Anthem master plan in Henderson.

"There's more to life than cleaning house," Lana Tino said. "We decided to downsize. We like the idea of being in a single-level home instead of a two story. This home will be much easier to maintain, easier to clean. That played a big part in our decision to buy the Lewis (plan)."

The 1,140-square-foot design features two bedrooms, two baths and a great room.

"This is just enough house for us," Tino said. "We left a large family in New Jersey, but the Lewis gives us a guest room for my sisters, nieces and nephews when they visit. My sister, Sara (Neubarth), lived near us in New Jersey, so we suggested she come with us. She did, and I'm happy she will be right next door. She also bought the Lewis design."

Familiar with the builder's reputation, the Tinos toured the community while visiting their sons, Michael and Thomas, who live in Las Vegas.

"The first time we went to Anthem we fell in love with it. Now we will be in our new home before year-end. I was glad to get away from the bitter cold winters," she said.

"The prices at Solera are attractive. What really sold us was the opportunity to be in a new community and have a choice of home sites. In our case it allowed my sister and me to build next to each other."

Features include ceiling fans, telephone and cable connections in every room, Corian counter tops, raised-panel cabinets and garage door openers.

Community amenities include a recreation center with a pool, spa, tennis and bocce courts, clubs and rooms for crafts.

"I'll be able to go to the fitness center before work every morning," Tino said.

Four designs measuring from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet are offered. Homes are priced from the mid-$180,000s to the mid-$240,000s.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive.

The sales office at Solera is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
