Canyon Mist Estates to host weekend `dusty shoe' event
US Home is hosting a dusty shoe preview this weekend at its gated Canyon Mist Estates neighborhood in the northwestern valley. "The interior decorating, furnishings and finishing touches are still a couple of weeks away," Vicki Zoot, vice president of marketing and sales, said. "So, visitors can have the fun of visualizing how they think the interiors should look when completed. It's like a blank canvas. You can imagine just how your own furniture and accessories would look in the model, and develop ideas on how you would personalize your own new US Home." Two of the five available designs will be featured during this weekend's preview. They are the one-story Brentwood Expanded, which measures 3,100 square feet, and the two-story San Clemente, which measures more than 4,500 square feet. Also available are the single-story Phoenician and Camelback designs, and the two-story Coronado, which has a turret. All of the homes feature myriad customizing options such as a den, study, additional bedrooms or baths, bonus room, game room and dual master suites. "It's not a `build by the numbers' type of neighborhood. Every home design offers buyers a broad range of interior design options, choices and selections, and exterior options that include balconies, three-tone paint combinations, leaded-glass entry door options, and a beautiful selection of rock, brick or stone veneers," Zoot said. Homes are priced from $599,990. Most are situated on lots with space for recreational vehicle parking. "We do have homes in final-stage construction that will be available for move-in during October and November -- in plenty of time to invite family and friends for a festive holiday dinner," Zoot added. The builder is offering special incentives to buyers who purchase their homes during the early bird phase. The formal grand opening is planned for mid-October. "Then all of our visitors who attended the dusty shoe preview can come back for a visit to see the finished models, and compare their original ideas to the actual look and styling selected for the homes by our interior designer," Zoot said. Community amenities include a neighborhood park. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. From the Interstate, go east to Jones Boulevard, head north to Elkhorn Road and follow the signs. The sales office is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m. The builder offers two additional neighborhoods in the northwest: The Courts at Turtle Creek, located at Jones Boulevard and Azure Drive, where prices start from the $500,000s; and Torrey Pines Estates, located at North Rainbow Boulevard and Azure Drive, where prices start from the high $500,000s. It also offers Rancho de Paz and Whisper Willows, which are priced from the $200,000s.
