Ardiente residents meet area business owners

Businesses and residents new to the age-qualified Ardiente community in North Las Vegas had the opportunity to become acquainted at a recent health and fitness fair in the guard-gated development.

The event featured neighborhood health, fitness and beauty services, including a cosmetics distributor, day spa, dental office, personal fitness trainer, eye surgeon and hearing-aid consultant.

"Many of our members are focused on their health and this is an easy, friendly way for them to get to know those assets that are close by," said Jillian Lura, marketing manager for Centex Homes, developer of Ardiente. "People are more conscious about health trends and the fair is just one of the ways we try to make it easy for residents to stay active."

Ardiente comprises six theme parks, including one called the Rose Garden, which contains a dog-walking area and sports courts.

All are connected by a trail system that winds throughout the 788-home property.

Resident amenities include a 13,000-square-foot community center with game rooms, social rooms, a fitness facility, billiards, lounge and meeting rooms. Outdoors, the center offers tennis and bocce courts, a heated swimming pool and lap pool, spa, built-in barbecues and a putting green.

The on-site staff organizes social outings to local attractions, special events, crafts and fitness classes.

"We're creating a place where neighbors can come together for fun and social activities," Lura said. "People want to be in an environment where they can make friends, spend more time with the people around them, and enjoy life. Ardiente's amenities -- something you see in a big master plan -- and smaller size give it a more intimate, neighborly kind of feel. It's more of a campus-like environment."

Two sets of models are open at Ardiente, offering a total of eight floor plans.

The homes measure 1,235 to 2,352 square feet, and are expandable to as large as 2,813 square feet.

Homes provide two or three bedrooms, two baths and two-car garages, as well as den options.

Prices start from the $200,000s. Select homes are available for move-ins as early as October.

All of the homes are designed to meet Energy Star standards.

To visit Ardiente, take the northern portion of the Las Vegas Beltway to Pecos Road, go south to Tropical Parkway and go east to Walnut Avenue, then follow the signs.

Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Mondays, when they open at noon. For additional information, visit www.centexhomes.com/las-vegas.

Dallas-based Centex Homes, founded in 1950, is one of the nation's largest home builders with operations throughout 25 states.

The company also provides mortgage lending, title and escrow, insurance, pest control and design services.
