Summerlin sales continue to escalate

New-home sales in Summerlin are on track to eclipse 2002 year-end sales totals, according to Larry Brocato, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the master-planned community. As of Oct. 31, year-to-date new-home sales were 9 percent ahead of 2002 sales.

"Summerlin is experiencing yet another strong year, despite fewer available homes. Thanks to continuing high demand, we are selling homes as fast as we can build them," Brocato said.

"Summerlin is on track to have another record-breaking year."

Brocato said the record demonstrates the investment value and long-term appeal of the community.

"Master-planned communities offer home buyers much more than a home. An abundance of amenities and conveniences, coupled with attractive design and a sense of community, have contributed to Summerlin's lasting appeal," he said.

Summerlin, located along the valley's western edge, has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys.

The community, developed as a series of villages, is home to eight golf courses, 107 neighborhood and village parks, more than 100 miles of trails, 16 schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, medical facilities, cultural facilities, and business parks.

More than 120 models showcase the available single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Homes are priced from the low $200,000s to more than $700,000.

Custom-home sites are priced from the high $500,000s to more than $1 million. Predesigned custom homes are priced from $2.1 million.

Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the low $800s.
