Aliante home buyer proposes marriage in community park

Aliante home buyer Mark Naguiat was so impressed by the community's Nature Discovery Park that he proposed marriage there to his girlfriend, Youri Khamsengmanivong, who accepted Naguiat's engagement ring.

"We were waiting to find the right home before making our engagement official," Naguiat said. "One day we were driving in this area and discovered Aliante during the earliest stage of development. The initial landscaping wasn't completed yet, but we could see that this was going to be a community with very attractive features, especially the park.

"The park is only a couple of minutes away from our home, so we can enjoy it as a couple and as a family when we have children. It will be a source of fun and will always have special sentimental value for Youri and I."

The couple chose a home in KB Home's San Destin Palazzo neighborhood, where they plan to move early next year.

"We were looking for certain features in our future home, and the design we chose at San Destin Palazzo met our expectations perfectly," Naguiat said. "We like the way the kitchen is separated from the living room, the three bedrooms and the study. It's a large house, but it really feels like a home."

The 1,905-acre community will have as many as 7,500 homes in primary and age-qualified villages.

Neighborhoods in the primary village are being constructed by D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Priced from the $140,000s to the $390,000s, the homes measure from 1,141 to 3,990 square feet.

Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community, where residences range from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and are priced from the low $200,000s to the $290,000s.

About one-fourth of the community has been set aside for recreational and public purposes, including three city parks, more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks, a public golf course, and an arroyo.

Two elementary schools, a middle school, fire station and 100 acres of commercial development, including a resort with gaming, are planned.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then right onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south to primary village, or north to Sun City. The information center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp.
