Recreation: Park opens in Nevada Trails

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

A dedication ceremony was held Nov. 13 for Nevada Trails Park, located within the Nevada Trails community near Warm Springs Road and Rainbow Boulevard in the southwestern valley. The 10-acre park was developed by Pardee Homes in conjunction with Clark County.

"Our successful partnership resulted in this beautiful park that was built by Pardee at a cost of about $2.6 million," County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury said.

Among the Pardee representatives attending the dedication was Hal Struck, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

"For more than five decades in Clark County, Pardee has kept its commitment to create communities where housing works in concert with other critical elements, including parks and schools," Struck said. "Nevada Trails is just the most recent example of that commitment. With this beautiful new park, a growing trail system, a new school on the horizon and neighborhoods comprised of only Energy Star homes, it shows that you can have it all in Las Vegas."

Klif Andrews, vice president of community development for Pardee, agreed.

"When completed, Nevada Trails will include more than 23 acres of parks and trails. In addition to that, there are several recreation sites planned for the nearby area, including golf courses and a major regional park," Andrews said.

Park amenities include basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, play fields, an exercise track and picnic area.

Eleven homes are featured in the Nevada Trails model park, and represent three neighborhoods. A fourth neighborhood, Palo Verde, will be introduced in December. All homes are Energy Star certified, and exceed national energy efficiency standards by at least 30 percent.

Nevada Trails is also the site of the Ultimate Family Home, the official show home of the 2004 International Builders Show in Las Vegas.

To visit the community, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go one mile south to Robindale Road and turn right. The model park is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
