Foundation poured for Trump International Hotel project

Perini Building Co. tapped for construction

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Working with a reputable contractor is a high priority for Donald J. Trump, developer of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas.

"Mr. Trump has built a reputation for creating luxurious projects and understands the nuances that govern whether a project will be built on time and within budget," sales and marketing executive Jack Christie said. "Finding the appropriate company takes research and resolve, but is critical for a project of this magnitude."

After careful consideration, Perini Building Co. was tapped to construct the 64-story, 24-carat-gold-encased structure on a portion of the New Frontier property near Fashion Show mall. The project is the second Perini will complete for Trump, the first being the Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.

"Repeat business is the litmus for successful contractors," Dick Rizzo, president of Perini, said. "We earn repeat business because we do a good job. When we delivered on our promises for the Trump Taj Mahal, we developed a mutual respect for one another."

The hotel and tower will have 1,282 condominium-hotel units, including 880 studio and 352 one-bedroom suites on the 16th through 59th floors, and 50 deluxe one-, two- and three-bedroom penthouse suites on the upper five floors.

Each suite will have sleek, contemporary furnishings, glass coffee tables with gold-tone finishes, and Brazilian rosewood dining tables with tufted upholstered chairs beneath silver-toned chandeliers. The master suites will feature a suspended drapery bed set into a recessed ceiling. Pale blue walls with hand-painted, sea-blue European wallpaper with a bird and filigree design will cover the recessed headboard wall.

The homes will have one to 3 1/2 baths with Breccia Oniciata floors, rounded vanities with silver and gold hardware, and a deep brown and gold marble top.

European-style kitchens will include Wolf, Bosch, Dacor and Sub-Zero appliances.

Floor-to-ceiling windows will maximize views of the Las Vegas Valley.

Other luxuries will include owners' lockout closets, flat-screen plasma TVs, wireless Internet, cable television and in-suite movies.

Amenities will include 24-hour concierge and security; a managed spa, fitness center and salon; a heated pool with a sundeck and bar; a business center with meeting facilities; doorman and valet parking services; and dining options.

The units are priced from the $600,000s to $6 million.

The sales office is located at 3128 Las Vegas Blvd. South, which is at the northwest corner of the Strip and Fashion Show Drive.
