Village Center welcomes first tenantSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Village Center has officially opened for business within Del Webb Corp.'s Anthem master-planned community in Henderson. The first tenant, a Vons grocery store, opened its door last week at the 115,000-square-foot shopping center. Phil Zeblisky, vice president of finance and administration for Del Webb, said the new center is evidence of the developer's commitment to area residents. "We think this is a good first step on delivering a community that meets all the needs of its residents. We want to make Anthem a self-contained community, a beautiful place where people can live, work and play," Zeblisky said. "Village Center will provide for the needs of the community, as it relates to grocery, drug, banking, professional services and other day-to-day needs. We are 90 percent leased up right now, and we anticipate many of the stores and shops opening within three months." The shopping center is located on Anthem Village Drive. New office space also will be available soon in the area, according to Zeblisky. "We anticipate office space available to tenants in the near future on a 7.3-acre parcel in the Village Center area, providing office space for people who wish to work within the Anthem community," he said. Anthem Country Club is a guard-gated golf course community for people of all ages. Twenty models range from 1,275 to 5,797 square feet and are priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million. Custom-home sites are also available. Sun City Anthem is an age-qualified community that will comprise about 10,000 homes and three championship golf courses. Buyers can choose from 17 models, measuring from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the Gold Key program. Homes are priced from $137,750 to more than $500,000. To visit Anthem, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. All of the sales information centers and model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
