Sun City Aliante offers retirees `everything'

After more than a decade of visiting Southern Nevada, Massachusetts residents Mary and Louis Fucci decided to move West. They recently purchased a home at Sun City Aliante, Del Webb's age-qualified community in North Las Vegas.

"We have visited the Las Vegas area every year for the past 12 years. We love the weather, and Sun City Aliante has everything we were looking for," Mary Fucci said.

Before retiring, Louis Fucci was a machinist for a company that manufactures equipment for the medical and space travel industries. Mary Fucci was an industrial engineer for a packaging design company.

Of their eight children, two live on the West Coast. Their new home, a Cedar design, will accommodate visiting family and friends. It measures 1,716 square feet and features a great room, kitchen nook and rear patio.

"The layout is great, with a large kitchen and three bedrooms," Fucci said.

She added that the builder's reputation and amenities included in its communities influenced their decision to purchase a home.

"We are both looking forward to participating in community activities. We've already met some of our neighbors; they are all very nice," she said.

Sun City Aliante is built around an 18-hole public golf course. Other amenities will include a recreation center with tennis and bocce courts, a swimming pool and fitness center, as well as club and hobby rooms.

"I'm eager to use the fitness center. I like to do weight training and use the treadmill about three times a week," Fucci said.

In addition to playing golf, Louis Fucci likes to bowl.

Three collections of homes featuring seven floor plans are available. Designs measure from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and are priced from the high $190,000s to the mid-$270,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office and models are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
