Del Webb assists service clubSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Del Webb has donated a van and maintenance supplies to the Minuteman Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the efforts of Sun City Anthem's Community Service Club. The club provides temporary, nonmedical assistance to residents of the age-qualified community in Henderson. Byron Jones, customer service manager for Del Webb, said the developer was delighted to help. "The club is now better able to serve elderly and disabled residents for basic home maintenance needs like air filter changes. We are very pleased to assist the Minuteman Foundation and the Community Service Club with this important effort," Jones said. "This is an outstanding recognition of our program to support the community and to help people who are physically challenged," Merrill Rosenbaum, club vice president, said. The club is comprised more than 130 volunteers. "We are proud of the fact that we are reaching out to the community," Rosenbaum said. "In 2004 we expect to provide services to at least 700 people." The van is equipped with general maintenance items such as ladders, light bulbs, batteries for smoke alarms, air filters, cleaning supplies, door hardware, silicone and caulk dispensers, and a variety of tools. In addition, Del Webb and several of its subcontractors trained 18 volunteers on basic maintenance skills. The service club meets in Anthem Center, which offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. Sun City Anthem offers 12 floor plans measuring from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet. Homes are priced from the mid-$200,000s to more than $500,000. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. The sales office and model village are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
