US Home touts scale of Torrey Pines neighborhood

US Home designed its Torrey Pines Estates neighborhood in the northwestern valley to be a small, independent entity.

"Not everyone is eager to be a part of a huge master-planned community. And that is the buyer we had in mind when we planned Torrey Pines Estates," sales executive Vicki Zoot said.

Part of a series of gated neighborhoods, each with a park, it features no more than 30 homes. The luxury homes are situated on one-quarter acre to one-half acre sites on cul-de-sacs.

Five one- and two-story homes measure as much as 4,500 square feet and offer as many as seven bedrooms.

"Our interior design flexibility and almost unlimited upgrade options assure that every home will have it's own distinctive personality when it is completed," Zoot said. "Our designer options are really only limited by your own imagination."

Features include raised and vaulted ceilings, formal living and dining rooms, foyers, great rooms, and kitchens with a dining area.

One new option is a loft-style game room in the single-story Brentwood design. The home, available for immediate occupancy, measures about 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a three-car garage, and a veranda off of the game room. The home starts from $633,924.

"The idea (for the game room) came from one of our home buyers who wanted a single-story home, but also wanted a modified second level. It was such a popular concept that we now include it as a design option," Zoot said.

Homes in the neighborhood are priced from the $500,000s.

Models are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, go east to Rainbow Boulevard and then north to Azure Drive.
