Ravenna model debut thrills buyers
Stephanie and Charles Masoner were excited about the opportunity to finally see a model of their new home at Ravenna, a neighborhood by Meritage Homes within the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. "We bought the home off a floor plan and just knew it was perfect for us, but it's always exciting to see the real thing," Stephanie Masoner, an actress, said about the grand opening celebration. "It's exactly what we thought it would be." The Masoners bought the Bellaria, a four-bedroom, three-bath home priced from the $290,000s. The couple have owned a home nearby for two years and were delighted to be staying in the area. "We looked all over and no floor plan compared to the Bellaria for us," Charles Masoner said. "If you look at the color scheme of this home, it's exactly the same colors we would choose and our furniture is almost identical to the furniture in the Bellaria model. This already looks like home." The couple opted to convert the downstairs bedroom into a den, which Stephanie Masoner said they will use as an office. One of the upstairs bedrooms has been tagged as "Dad's room" to be used when her father visits from England. Charles Masoner, who is a server at a hotel restaurant, said he was impressed by the "large master bedroom and adjoining bathroom. This is a great suite for us." He also said the loft is the perfect spot for his pool table. "Our passions are gardening and interior decorating. We're so excited to be moving into this house and start doing things," he said. During the 12 years they have been married, Stephanie Masoner has performed in several television shows and movies, including a role as a Martian in the comedy "Mars Attacks." "When I was at a party where (actor) Jack Nicholson also was a guest, I introduced myself and told him, `I was the Martian who shot you.' The rest of the night, he kept pointing me out as the Martian who shot him," she said. The neighborhood of all two-story homes also offers the Milano, a 1,785-square-foot plan with four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, priced from the $280,000s; and the Cervia, a 2,169-square-foot design with three bedrooms, a den, loft and three baths. Each home has a two-car garage. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south to the community's information center. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
