Construction activity remains brisk at Ardiente, an age-qualified neighborhood in North Las Vegas, according to Don Kazmierzak, an executive at Centex Homes.
"Everywhere you look, there are either homes going up or the clubhouse being worked on. This is really an exciting time for the Centex team and the new-home buyers as well," Kazmierzak said, adding that many buyers visit daily to check on the progress of their homes and the clubhouse.

"One buyer told me he missed two days, and in that time, our construction team had put up the dressing rooms at the end of the pool area."
Two pools are planned.
"One is designed for lap swimmers and the temperature will be a little cooler than the other, which is for soakers and recreational swimmers."
Additional recreational amenities will include a bocce court, fitness center, tennis courts and putting greens. The walking path will provide exercise stations, along which will be several parks, including a dog park and a rose garden, as well as covered benches, picnic tables and barbecue appliances.
Some of the homes under construction can be ready for spring move-ins.
"Knowing the interest we've received in Ardiente, the decision was made to build a select number of homes for purchasers who were looking for more of a quicker move-in. It's still early enough in the construction phase to select many options, but anyone who is interested should get here soon."
Buyers can choose from eight floor plans, ranging from 1,235 to 2,352 square feet. Prices start from $284,000.
To visit, take the northern leg of the Las Vegas Beltway to Losee Road, go south to Tropical Parkway, turn east and go to Horizon Estates Drive. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at noon.
