Anthem's amenities, designs please bachelor



Bachelor Charles Wong recently purchased a home at Del Webb's Sun City Anthem in Henderson, saying "It fits my lifestyle perfectly.

"I'm an active person, and I utilize all of it," he said. "The golf courses, swimming pools, and I work out every day in the fitness center."

Wong, who was born in the Philippines, retired six years ago as a chemist in New Jersey. He also worked as a real estate investor.

"The United States is the best country in the world," Wong said. "I am proud to be an American. I came to this country with $400, and 34 years later, I'm enjoying the fruits of my labor. I've found my dream house at Sun City Anthem."

He said he likes his Cambridge plan's openness, office and den.

Part of the Premiere Series, the 1,996-square-foot home has two bedrooms, a den, two baths, breakfast area, utility room, covered patio, and two-car garage with a golf cart storage area.

"My house is great for entertaining," he said. "There's plenty of room when my sons visit."

Wong has two sons, James Scott and Raymond, who live on the East Coast.

The community's Anthem Center serves as a venue for special events, club meetings and dining at Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. It also houses a fitness center with exercise equipment, swimming pools, walking tracks, and wellness programs.

Nineteen models are offered, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and priced from the high $140,000s to more than $500,000.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
