Math teacher calculates advantages of Solera
Richard Morrison was ready for a change after teaching mathematics to middle-school pupils for 27 years. Now he is ready to enjoy the lifestyle offered at Del Webb's Solera at Anthem, an age-qualified community in Henderson. "I taught seventh and eighth graders at St. Albans IS-192 (in New York)," Morrison said. "Now I'm looking forward to meeting new people and enjoying life in Nevada." The former Long Island, N.Y., resident opted for the Franklin design. "It is plenty large and has three bedrooms," Morrison said. "I plan to convert one bedroom to a den." His 1,771-square-foot home also features two baths, a great room and dining room. Four additional floor plans are available. The 1,140-square-foot Lewis plan offers two bedrooms, two baths and a great room; the Clark measures 1,251 square feet with three bedrooms or two bedrooms and a den, two baths, and living and dining rooms; the 1,591-square-foot Whitney, which contains two bedrooms, two baths, a great room and den; and the Fremont, a 1,424-square-foot plan with three bedrooms, two baths, a great room and dining room. Homes are priced from high $190,000s to the mid-$260,000s. All homes feature low-e windows, cocoon insulation, and 12-SEER air-conditioning units with heating and cooling sealants that exceed Energy Star requirements. Solera is located within the Anthem master-planned community. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and continue to Somersworth Drive. The sales office and models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
