Aliante to host holiday-themed event

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Entertainment, prizes and refreshments will be featured at today's "Kick off the Holidays" event in Aliante, a master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

From noon to 4 p.m. at Nature Discovery Park, visitors can enjoy music provided by a barbershop quartet, a hand-bell choir and carolers, in addition to a visit by Frosty the Snowman, who will mingle with guests and pose for photos with children.

A live radio remote will be on-site, and there will be a prize drawing for a gift valued at $10,000 courtesy of a local jewelry store.

Refreshments will be available for sale.

Dan Naef, senior vice president of North Valley Enterprises, developer of Aliante, said the event is an opportunity for visitors to experience the community's family-oriented lifestyle.

"We thought it would be fun to give our homeowners and visitors a chance to get into the holiday spirit a little early," Naef said. "They can enjoy a variety of fun activities, while enjoying all of the wonderful facilities in Nature Discovery Park."

To reach the park, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south.

Encompassing 1,905 acres, Aliante consists of a primary village and an adult village.

Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Floor plans measure from 1,141 to 3,990 square feet and are priced from the $140,000s to the $390,000s. Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante, where single-story homes measure from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and are priced from the $190,000s to the $270,000s.

Nearly one-fourth of the acreage has been designated for recreational purposes. Roughly 100 acres has been set aside for commercial development.

Additional plans include schools and a fire station.

A sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
