Betty Kincaid, a member of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, officially became 2005 president of the Women's Council of Realtors last weekend at its national conference in Orlando, Fla. The council, headquartered in Chicago, is the 17th largest women's organization in the nation with 260 chapters and 14,000 members. Kincaid is the organization's first president from Nevada. "Betty has been an integral part of the success of our organization here," said Lee Barrett, 2004 president of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. "For her to be inducted as the national president of this organization is a huge accomplishment. "She certainly knows the real estate industry and uses her knowledge to benefit not only Las Vegas Realtors, but women Realtors across the country." Kincaid, founder and chairman of Southwest Exchange Corp. in Las Vegas, has been a member of the council for 11 years. The organization named her Member of the Year in 1998 and 1999. Active in real estate for more than 20 years, Kincaid is also a trainer for the National Association of Realtors. Southwest Exchange is an independent intermediary for 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. The company coordinates with all parties to ensure clients' exchanges are completed properly.
