It's all fashion at Aliante

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Home Fashion Week continues this weekend at the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. The event includes demonstrations and workshops addressing trends in design, lifestyle, home decorating and entertaining. There will also be opportunities for visitors to win prizes.

Through tomorrow, visitors 18 and older may visit the community's information gallery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., pick up a complimentary "scratch 'n' win" card, and become instant winners of prizes such as race-car experiences and gift certificates to restaurants and entertainment venues.

The cards will be distributed one per person, and there is no purchase necessary to participate.

The event includes free home-related demonstrations in various model complexes within the community. Led by industry experts, the demonstrations will focus on home fashion, art, cuisine, entertainment systems, pet fashions and water conservation.

"We thought it would be appropriate to have Home Fashion Week at Aliante culminate with a series of informative demonstrations geared toward fashionable fun for the home and family," community marketing manager Kimiko Peterson said. "It's an opportunity to walk through some of the most beautiful model homes in the valley, and speak to a variety of professionals about the latest trends in home design, comfort, technology and more."

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb.

Encompassing 1,905 acres, Aliante consists of an all-ages village and an age-qualified village, Sun City Aliante. Collectively, they will have as many as 7,500 homes.

The builders are Astoria Homes, Del Webb, D.R. Horton, KB Home, Lennar, Meritage, Pardee Homes, Pulte Homes and US Home.

Residences are priced from the high $100,000s to the high $600,000s.

About one-fourth of the community is designated for recreational and public purposes including the municipal Aliante Golf Club, the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, two additional city parks, more than 20 miles of trails, and an arroyo.

Two elementary schools, one of which will open in spring 2005, and a middle school are planned.

In addition, about 100 acres are allocated for commercial development, including retail and business centers, restaurants and a 40-acre resort with gaming.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Head to the Aliante Parkway exit and go south. The information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
