Halloween festivities come to Green Valley center
Green Valley Town Center held its annual Haunted Village recently, transforming the 70-acre commercial plaza into a festival of free Halloween fun. The village featured two music, entertainment and dancing areas; costume contests; games; prizes; candy; kid's activities; strolling scarecrow mimes; and a juggling stilt walker. Witches, ghouls, scarecrows, skeletons, skulls with glowing eyes, spiders, ghosts, bats and other creatures wandered the grounds. Perfection on Wheels, a bicycle stunt team that incorporates educational messages into its presentations, performed a demonstration. Sponsors included American Nevada Corp., developer of Green Valley Town Center; the city of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department; the Green Valley Town Center Merchants; and a local radio station. Marketing executive Sandi Marvin said the event drew record-setting participation. "The Haunted Village is an event that American Nevada Corp. enjoys promoting each year, and this year's turnout was beyond anything we've experienced in the past," Marvin said. "The spirit of the kids and all the participating businesses and individuals contributed to a great day of fun for everyone." American Nevada develops master-planned communities and commercial properties, such as Green Valley. The company is also a partner in Silver Canyon Partnership, developer of the 1,300-acre Seven Hills community. American Nevada also holds a commercial portfolio of more than 1.7 million square feet and has more than 5 million additional square feet planned for office, retail, industrial, gaming and medical projects.
