Tierra Linda begins holiday season

KB Home's Tierra Linda neighborhood in the southeastern valley is holding a kick-off celebration for the second annual Gift of Lights from 1 to 4 p.m. today.

During the festivities, the first 50 families visiting the neighborhood will be given free passes to the Gift of Lights at Sunset Park. In addition, there will be refreshments, a radio remote, and a drawing to win a $1,000 gift certificate to the Boulevard or Meadows malls.

The builder is title sponsor of the Gift of Lights, which will feature animated holiday light displays in a drive-through setting at the park starting on Friday through Jan. 3. It will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

"This year's Gift of Lights is even bigger and brighter than last year," said Leah Bryant, president of the builder's Las Vegas division. "Sunset Park will have more than 75 specialty light displays, larger and more animated presentations, plus a drive-through light tunnel with double the amount of lights compared to last year."

The neighborhood is one of six participating in the Gift of Lights Goodwill Drive. Those who donate gently used clothing for Goodwill will receive a coupon for $2 off the display's regular admission price of $10 per vehicle. The other participating neighborhoods are Iron Mountain Ranch, Bella Terra, Liberty at the Orchards, Sonesta and Goldrush.

Two series of homes are offered at Tierra Linda.

The Pueblo series features seven floor plans measuring from 1,098 to 2,312 square feet. The one- and two-story homes offer two to four bedrooms, two or three baths, and two-car garages. Prices start from the low $150,000s.

The Hacienda series offers eight floor plans ranging from 1,245 to 2,784 square feet. The one- and two-story designs feature three to six bedrooms, two or 2 1/2 baths, and two-car garages. They are priced from the low $160,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, head east to Las Vegas Boulevard and proceed north. At Barbara Lane, turn west and then turn right at Haven Street. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily except Friday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
