Floor plan clinches couple's purchase at Alterra

When Zachary and I-Fang Broyles were on the search for a home in Las Vegas, it didn't take long for them to decide on Richmond American Homes as their preferred builder. The Winter plan at the builder's Alterra development of courtyard homes in the northwestern valley was just what they were seeking.

"Compared to other homes we looked at, this is a very well thought-out design," Zachary Broyles said. "Many floor plans we saw felt very awkward in places to both of us. But the Winter model we picked is both attractive and logical. I-Fang and I both love this home and can't wait to move in."

The Broyles said they appreciated the room separations on the first floor.

"We both love to cook, but one thing we both really like is that the kitchen isn't just included in the whole living space downstairs, the way that many new homes are designed. It gives us an opportunity to be creative in our kitchen, yet also a separate place to enjoy entertaining or just relaxing by ourselves," I-Fang Broyles said.

The home features a covered front porch, an upstairs laundry room and a two-car garage. It measures 1,485 square feet.

Prices start from the $170,000s.

"The courtyard design is one of our favorite things about this neighborhood. We like the feeling of community and security we have as a result of how the homes are situated," Zachary Broyles said.

Three other two-story plans are available.

The 1,357-square-foot Spring model features a great room and three bedrooms. The home is priced from the $160,000s.

Priced from the $170,000s, the Summer showcases three bedrooms plus options for a loft and bonus room. With options, the 1,418-square-foot home measures as large as 1,598 square feet.

The Fall plan measures from 1,645 to 1,933 square feet. As many as five bedrooms are available in the home. It is priced from the $180,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Durango Drive and head east. Go north on El Capitan Way, then go west on Racel Street.

The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when it opens at noon.
