Search leads family to Aliante

Richard and Paula Jost spent about a year looking at new homes before deciding the Aliante master-planned community was the right place for their family.

"It was a long process," Richard Jost said. "We wanted to be sure, so we looked everywhere. I don't think we left a stone unturned."

Since he works in the construction industry, Jost was aware of the North Las Vegas development.

"I could see that Aliante was evolving into a wonderful community," he said. "As we became more familiar with it, we knew we definitely wanted to get in on the ground level. It was a great opportunity, as far as we were concerned."

The Josts purchased a home in Pulte Homes' Serenata neighborhood. They selected a 2,299-square-foot, two-story design with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

"I was familiar with Pulte and the quality and energy efficiency of their homes. They had the perfect floor plan for us and the service we have received from their staff was excellent," Jost said.

As many as 7,500 homes will be built in primary and age-qualified villages in the 1,905-acre community.

Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Homes measuring from 1,141 to 3,990 square feet are priced from the $140,000s to the $390,000s.

Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante, which offers single-story homes ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and priced from the mid-$190,000s to the low $280,000s.

About one-fourth of the community is designated for recreational and public purposes. Plans call for an 18-hole municipal golf course, three city parks, more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks, an arroyo, two elementary schools, a middle school, fire station, and about 100 acres of commercial development.

An information gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south to the primary village or north to Sun City.

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb.
