KB plans holiday celebration

KB Home is celebrating the coming holiday season with a Holiday Harvest event today at its Walnut Glen neighborhood in the northeastern valley.

Festivities will include a drawing for a $500 gift card to a grocery store and a cookbook.

"It's hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner," said Renee Gervais, director of sales for the builder's Las Vegas division. "And of course, the holidays remind us of home, full of friends and family. For people who are renting or leasing a home, now's a good time to consider making a more permanent move."

Kelly Kahout moved to Las Vegas from Alabama with her husband, Chad, who is in the Air Force. They purchased the Filbert floor plan, a 1,725-square-foot, two-story home with three bedrooms and a two-car garage.

"We had looked at several communities, but found our best price at Walnut Glen; it is very close to my husband's work," Kelly Kahout said. "We really like the open feel of the house."

The single- and two-story homes range from 1,231 to 2,038 square feet and feature two to five bedrooms and 1 1/2 to three baths. Prices start from the $140,000s.

Options include dens, lofts, kitchen islands and covered patios.

"We chose several options, including low-e glass windows to make our home energy efficient," Kahout said.

Upon completion, the neighborhood will have 372 homes.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Craig Road, go east to Walnut Road and turn right. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.

The builder offers one-stop shopping at its 22,000-square-foot design center where buyers may select options and upgrades and potential buyers can receive free financial advice, including credit reports, and assistance locating a home in one of more than 20 new-home neighborhoods. It is located at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201, just south of Warm Springs Road.
