Buyers conclude new-home search at Avante's Elk Ridge
Richard and Linda Nielson searched valleywide for the right home and neighborhood before finding the features they were looking for at Avante Homes's Elk Ridge neighborhood in northwest Las Vegas. The gated neighborhood offers two collections of homes encompassing six floor plans that range from 1,616 to 2,755 square feet. Homes come with as many as five bedrooms, plus a bonus room and a three-car garage. Richard Nielson, vice president of an airline, said they had several criteria in mind for a new home. "Our former home was in the southeast valley and since I work at North Las Vegas Airport and my wife teaches at a school in the northwest area, the daily commute was difficult," Nielson said. "For that reason, we hoped to find a home in the northwest, but did not limit our search to this area. In fact, we looked at about 20 to 30 new neighborhoods across the valley. "Then, one day we discovered Elk Ridge and we knew our search was over. The homes were more attractive; the amenities were superior and the opportunities Avante Homes offered us to personalize our home were beyond anything we had experienced elsewhere." The Nielsons chose the Tahoe design, a two-story, 2,755-square-foot home with as many as seven bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage. They pointed to the home's "spaciousness" and the sales staff's helpfulness as reasons for their purchase decision. "From the day we first walked into the Elk Ridge sales information center, right through construction, move-in and beyond, everyone we have dealt with has been wonderful," he said. "When we wanted to make special modifications to our home, they were incredibly patient and helpful every step of the way." The homes feature upgraded cabinetry, a choice of 12-inch granite counter tops, platinum-finished plumbing fixtures, satin nickel locksets and brushed-steel light fixtures, as well as an energy-efficiency package that includes low-e windows, radiant barrier sheathing and R-13 exterior insulation. Rear yards measure as deep as 40 feet. Prices start from the low $300,000s. The neighborhood features a nearly 4-acre park. For a limited time, the builder is offering a zero-down move-in program with monthly payments as low as $1,291 for qualified buyers. The program is based on an APR of 4.36 percent. Details are available at the sales center. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Durango Drive, go east to El Capitan Way, then north to O'Hare Road and go west.
