Home sales remain strong at Paseos village

More than 500 homes are expected to close in The Paseos village in Summerlin this year, according to Kevin Orrock, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the master-planned community.

The village features nine neighborhoods with more than 40 floor plans designed by eight builders. Homes measure 1,300 to 4,200 square feet and are priced from the mid-$300,000s to about $900,000.

"We've had a busy year," Orrock said. "We broke ground on the village in 2003 and now we're looking at the final plans for the area. Only three residential neighborhoods remain, and we expect to see them take shape in 2005."

The 375-acre village will include 12 neighborhoods upon completion, as well as a 20-acre park, trails, an elementary school and a house of worship.

Community park facilities include soccer fields, T-ball fields, sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, children's play area, picnic pavilions and open turf areas.

Situated along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin is home to 107 neighborhood and village parks, more than 100 miles of trails, houses of worship, shopping and business centers, medical and cultural facilities, and nearly 120 model homes.

Homes are available in a variety of styles, including single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Prices start from the mid-$300,000s to more than $2 million. Custom-home sites are priced from the $500,000s.

Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the mid-$800s.
