Ravenna models open at Aliante

Meritage Homes will debut its furnished models today at Ravenna, a new neighborhood located within the Aliante master plan in North Las Vegas.

Grand opening festivities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a coloring contest for children, refreshments, and drawings for free turkeys.

Homes in the neighborhood have Old World styling with Tuscan, southern Italian and Spanish-Colonial architecture. Its three two-story designs are priced from the high $200,000s and include a two-car garage with a finished interior.

Plan One measures 1,785 square feet and has four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and an island kitchen. Options include a loft or master retreat in lieu of a bedroom, and bonus room in place of two bedrooms.

Four bedrooms and three baths are featured in the 1,993-square-foot Plan Two design.

It features a great room and study/loft area. A downstairs bedroom can be converted into a den, and an upstairs bonus room is optional.

The largest design, the 2,169-square-foot Plan Three, has four bedrooms, three baths, a downstairs den and retreat off the master suite. Additionally, the home has a great room, loft and optional bonus room.

Interior amenities include 9-foot ceilings, energy-efficient windows with vinyl frames, ceramic-tile counter tops, oak cabinetry with crown molding and hidden hinges, walk-in closets with built-in vinyl-coated wire shelving in the master suites, cultured-marble counter tops with dual basins, and oval tubs.

All of the homes have the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label, certifying homeowners will use at least 30 percent less energy for heating, cooling and water heating than those built to standard code.

Residents can enjoy community amenities such as the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park which has an amphitheater and picnic areas, an 18-hole public golf course, trails and an arroyo.

To visit the community's information center, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway and go south. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
