Developing along the upper west side of the Las Vegas Valley, Meritage Homes' Northern Terrace is more than a home to the DeMaios , according to the family. It is a home-office for Jackie, a short commute to work for Geoffrey and a bike ride to school for daughter, Jenna.
"Meritage offers a great value for a fantastic home. Their homes are really pretty, never cookie cutter," Geoffrey said.

"Providence is in a beautiful mountainous setting, close to where I work and near relatives. Nothing beats a master plan. I'd like Jenna to have the experience of riding her bike to school."
The family, the first to purchase in the Concord neighborhood, selected the Emerson plan, a 1,560-square-foot home with four bedrooms, 21/2 baths, a front porch and two-car garage.
The DeMaios opted for a loft in lieu of the fourth bedroom and a media expansion in the living room.
"Meritage has a home for everyone," Geoffrey said. "Jenna will essentially have her own wing. We can be downstairs entertaining while Jenna and her friends play in the loft. It's just perfect for us."
Northern Terrace offers 15 home designs within four villages -- Concord, Salem, Brookline and the gated community of Andover.
The collection includes single- and two-story layouts ranging from 1,320 to 2,641 square feet. Floor plans feature as many as six bedrooms and four baths. Buyers can select from homes with two- or three-car garages.
Structural options include dens, master retreats, exercise rooms, bonus rooms and media expansions.
Pre-model prices start in the mid-$200,000s. Model homes are currently under construction and expected to open in January.
