DragonRidge membership included with lot purchase

MacDonald Highlands and DragonRidge Country Club will host this year's Wendy's Three Tour Challenge to benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Thomas, the late founder of Wendy's, was adopted.

The tournament, to be held Tuesday, pits top professionals from the PGA, LPGA and Senior PGA tours against each other in a head-on competition.

"In honor of the Wendy's charity event, MacDonald Highlands will be including a golf membership for a limited time on select custom-home sites" said Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos. "We currently have a spectacular collection of custom lots for buyers to choose from."

A golf membership to DragonRidge Country Club will be provided with the purchase of a site in the neighborhoods of Kings Links, Palisades, Montrose and Bent Green. Each of the select sites is adjacent to the private golf course within the community.

The course has received praise for its quality. It played host to the first two Tiger Wood's "Tiger Jam" charity golf events, and was praised for the quality of golf it offered and for the condition in which it is kept.

The Kings Links neighborhood is situated on the course's signature hole and offers views of the seventh fairway, its lake and waterfalls. It is adjacent to a 4-acre park, which will contain two tennis courts and a playground. Custom-home sites range from one-third acre to nearly one-half acre and are priced from $413,000.

Hillside and flat golf-course lots are available in Palisades. Views of the valley and golf course are available from the sites, which range from nearly one-half acre to more than 2 1/2 acres. Prices start at $335,000.

The Montrose neighborhood offers flat lots elevated above the country club. These lots will accommodate buyers preferring to build single-story homes. Home sites, offering views the 18th hole's fairways and the McCullough Mountains, range from three-quarters of an acre to nearly 1 acre. Prices start at $582,000.

The newest neighborhood, Bent Green, features golf-course lots ranging from nearly one-half acre to almost an acre. Most of the custom-home sites have views of the valley and mountains. It has been chosen as the site of the 2003 Street of Dreams event. Lot prices start at $402,000.

Upon completion, the community will feature residences amid 17 neighborhoods spread over 1,200 acres. Ten custom-home neighborhoods are under development with lots priced from $186,000 to more than $3.5 million. Estate homes start from $1.4 million and offer hillside or golf locations. In addition, semicustom homes are being developed by Toll Bros.

Future plans include additional semicustom homes and condominiums.

The guard-gated community includes three neighborhood parks encompassing about 10 acres and will feature tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; playgrounds; and picnic facilities. In addition, five miles of fitness trails meandering through the community that will provide access to nearby mountain nature trails are planned.

To visit the community's information center, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive, turn south and proceed to Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
