Corporate couple retire to Sun City Anthem
Married 39 years, Bill and Lois Campbell have not slowed much since their lives in the corporate environment. "I spent 20 years with International Playtex Corp. in states across the Midwest, retiring as corporate vice president of national accounts in Connecticut," Bill Campbell said. "I felt like I had achieved everything I could in my career with the company and decided to start my own firm. We specialized in marketing dietary supplements at a time when they were very new to the market." Fifteen years later, the Campbells decided to move West and relax. Their current address is Del Webb's age-qualified Sun City Anthem community in Henderson. "We like Sun City Anthem and are very proud of the community," Campbell said. "It is very gratifying that when we have visitors we can show them all of the wonderful things to do here. And the depth of brilliant and talented residents that keep the community running amazes me." Lois Campbell is vice president of the community's sewing club, while Bill Campbell plays tennis and serves as president of the finance club. "We enjoy participating in organized activities and meeting new people. But if the finance club looked at my portfolio, they'd impeach me," he said. The hub of resident activities is Anthem Center, which measures more than 77,000 square feet and provides exercise, social and dining opportunities. They purchased the Concord model, a 2,510-square-foot home with two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It is offered with a golf cart area, wet bar and covered patio, and is priced from the low $300,000s. Homes measure from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet. Prices start in the mid-$140,000s. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway then turn right on Alexandria Drive. The sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
