COLUMN: ACHIEVERS

-- Ruben Vasquez, president of Las Vegas-based ADT Construction Group, has received the Hispanic Business Man of the Year award. The honor was bestowed by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at its 23rd annual convention and business expo held recently in Los Angeles. Vasquez was nominated for the region one award, covering the western United States, by MGM Mirage.

-- Jayne Cayton, a commercial real estate broker with more than five years of experience, has joined CB Richard Ellis. In her associate position, Cayton works with Randy Broadhead and Brad Peterson of the office properties division. Previously, Cayton was associated with Colliers International and, before that, with Terra West Realty & Development.

-- Kevin J. Higgins and Kit Graski are the founding brokers of Voit Commercial Brokerage in Las Vegas. Previously, Higgins and Graski were associated with the local office of CB Richard Ellis. Both are active in various professional organizations.

-- Tony Amato, Steve Storlazzi and Kathy Huang have joined NAI Horizon, a commercial real estate firm. Amato is the former president, owner and broker of the Amato Commercial Group, and is a specialist in petroleum site acquisition, disposition and consulting services. Huang, in her position, is a member of the Amato team. Storlazzi specializes in land and investment sales for the company.

-- Douglas L. Crook has been named managing director of Triad Development, a commercial development company. In this position, Crook oversees day-to-day operations for the company's office and retail projects in Southern Nevada. He is also responsible for coordinating with project architects, engineers, city officials, contractors, and legal and accounting representatives. Crook

has been with the company since 1997.
