Pulte golf tourney declared success

Pulte Homes' Las Vegas division raised more than $70,000 for Special Olympics Nevada during its third annual charity golf tournament held recently at Anthem Country Club in Henderson.

"This year's tournament was a huge success," said Randy Bury, area president of the builder's Las Vegas division. "It was an honor to work with Special Olympics this year, and work together to raise a lot of money to benefit their remarkable athletes and wonderful organization."

The team of Scott Middleton, Steve Petruska, Jeff Galindo and Phil Peckman won the tournament.

Petruska, the builder's newly named chief operating officer, hit a hole-in-one on the sixth hole to win a $16,300 Vegas Victory motorcycle, which he donated to Special Olympics.

Special Olympics is an international organization that provides year-round training and athletic competition to more than one million people with mental retardation.

The Hawaiian-themed tournament included a luau with entertainment, awards and a prize drawing.

The builder offers more than a dozen new-home subdivisions in Southern Nevada, including Silverstone Ranch and Wyeth Ranch in the northwest; Serenata and Vialetto in the Aliante master plan in North Las Vegas; Paradiso, Summerfield and Hillstone in Summerlin; and Anthem Highlands in Henderson.

Based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., the builder operates in more than 40 markets nationwide. Its Del Webb brand is a leading builder of age-qualified communities. It also operates a mortgage division.
