Aliante park to host free concert
The Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas will host the "Aliante Summer Country Kick-Off" concert from 7 to 9:30 p.m. next Saturday at Nature Discovery Park. As part of the city's Courtyard Concert Series, the free event will feature performances by the Tony Marques Band and Wolf Creek. In addition, there will be trick roping demonstrations. Those attending are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Refreshments will be available for sale. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit, then go south. Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. Its 1,905 acres comprise all-ages and age-qualified villages, which will have as many as 7,500 homes. D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes are building residences in the all-ages village, while Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante. Homes are priced from the $180,000s to the $500,000s. Nearly one-fourth of the acreage is designated for recreational and public purposes. There are three city parks, a municipal golf course, more than 20 miles of trails, and an arroyo. A fire station opened in April. Plans also call for three schools and about 100 acres of commercial development, including business and retail centers, and a gaming resort. The information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
