Links for Life charity golf tournament set for June

The Links for Life charity golf tournament begins with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, June 7 at Anthem Country Club in Henderson. The goal of the ninth annual event, hosted by Colliers International, is to raise more than $200,000 for Child Haven, a division of the Clark County Department of Family Services.

"The success of Links for Life is attributed to volunteerism of the Colliers International staff and the generous contributions of our corporate sponsors. It is our goal to ensure that all proceeds from events and sponsoring donations are given directly to children's programs, children's charities or specific needs of individual disadvantaged children where funding will have the most positive impact on a child," said Vic Donovan, chairman of the Links for Life Foundation, which was created last year by Colliers.

Child Haven provides temporary care and treatment for abused, neglected and abandoned children. More than $60,000 was raised at last year's event, and more than $750,000 has been raised for the agency since the tournament's inception.

The tourney will be played in a four-person scramble format with prizes awarded on designated holes including two prizes for a hole-in-one. Dinner and a live auction follow.

More than 200 area business executives are expected to participate.
