Architecture professor buys Rosedale home


     Charles Obi, a professor of architecture with the Community College of Southern Nevada, chose the Plan Three model at Rosedale after a lengthy study of new homes valleywide.
      "I had been searching for a new one-story home for about a year when I found this floor plan at Rosedale," Obi said. "I was attracted to the simplicity and architecture, along with a side-facing front door.
      "Pardee (Homes, the builder) is a very reputable builder known for quality construction. Our home in Rosedale is very comfortable with a design and layout that separates the kitchen from the main traffic."
      Obi and his family chose the Plan Three Alternate, which offers three bedrooms and a den in 1,459 square feet.
      "We like having the privacy of the master bedroom at the back of the home away from the secondary bedrooms," Obi said.
      The family-oriented neighborhood was a big selling point for the Obis.
      "We saw several families in the neighborhood when we visited Rosedale," Obi said. "Living in a community with children was very important to us."
      Priced from $121,750 to $128,450, this floor plan can include four bedrooms; dual owner suites with a third bedroom; or three bedrooms and a den; all with two baths, a laundry room and a two-car garage in from 1,299 to 1,459 square feet.
      Design options include exterior French doors from the fourth bedrooms, one- or three-sided fireplaces, acrylic blocks in owner baths, speakers and wiring for stereo sound, intercoms and gas barbecue outlets.
      Kitchens include ceramic-tile counter tops, oak cabinets, pantries and icemaker connections for refrigerators.
      Owner suites feature mirrored wardrobe doors, baths with cultured-marble counter tops and bullnose edges, dual sinks, separate toilets and separate tubs and showers with clear-glass enclosures and ceramic-tile surrounds.
      Other standard features include media niches in family rooms; ceramic-tile or parquet entry flooring; pony walls; great rooms; and cultured-marble counter tops with standard edge in secondary baths.
      There are four one- and two-story floor plans, priced from $114,200 to $142,450.
      Floor plans range from 1,149 to 1,679 square feet with 15 exterior designs options.
      To visit, take Town Center Drive to Anasazi Drive, turn west, proceed to Greenmoor Lane and turn south, then turn east on Pavillion Center Drive.
      The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
