Las Brisas begins construction on handicap-accessible units

     Several condominiums designed specifically for handicap access are under construction at Las Brisas, a complex built by Terra West Homes. The four special units will become available in August through October.
      "Anyone who requires the convenience of handicap accessible living should visit Las Brisas as soon as possible," sales agent Tom Gerken said. "This is a limited number of specially appointed homes and we do not expect them to be available for very long."
      Gerken said the four homes will feature enhanced floor space in baths, with special tubs that include a seat, grab bars and a hand-held shower attachment. Other features include grab bars in the commode areas, extra floor space in the kitchens, lever door handles throughout, as well as special shelving, counter tops, cabinets, patios and bedroom closets. All electrical and mechanical switches, plugs, panels and thermostats will also conform to specified guidelines for handicap accessibility.
      Located on the south side of Sahara Avenue between Lamb and Nellis boulevards, the complex features floor plans as large as 1,079 square feet.
      Prices range from $82,490 to $89,490. Pricing information on handicap accessible homes is available at the sales office.
      The complex features a one-story floor plan designed in a dual owner suite format, measuring 1,079 square feet.
      Recreational amenities include a swimming pool, spa, clubhouse, green belts and a barbecue area with shade structures.
      Standard amenities include appliances, miniblinds, gas fireplaces and lighting fixtures throughout.
      The complex features Mediterranean architecture with concrete roof tiles, porches and balconies.
